Paul Denton

Paul is currently the Deputy Company Secretary and Head of Risk for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.  Prior to this he worked as a General Manager (Support Services).  He joined the NHS following 24 years in the RAF as a Paramedic. Paul’s present role involves supporting the Board with strategic risk and the Board Assurance Framework.  He has responsibilities for the Annual Report, Insurance and related issues.  He works closely with Divisional Leadership Teams on issues relating to well-led and the development of governance frameworks.  Paul has responsibility for the Council of Governors and works closely with the Chairman and Lead Governor. In addition to the above, Paul is the Head of Risk for the Trust. He provides advice to the Board and support the Triumvirates/Leadership teams. Paul leads on training and development. He manages a small team that supports risk across the organisation and manages also the Executive Support Team who are responsible for Board Meetings, Executive EA support etc. Paul collaborates closely with the Executive Directors and his a member of the Trusts senior leadership team. He is passionate about supporting colleagues and has provided mentoring to support career development and emotional resilience for the past 7 years.
